Mt. Joy Brooklyn Concert reviews
Abundant Joy
Saturday night was no exception as Mt. Joy and his exceptional "new" Band of Joy didn't let their mixed boomer & post boomer audience sit for one moment of their nearly 2-hour love fest! I have never been disappointed by his musical decisions.
Rockin' Merlin, Robert, presided over a musical extravaganza that elegantly and with great humility and grace shared the spotlight with every member of the band. He took a back seat, but stayed on stage in a supporting role as each member of the group was featured with a solo number. Huge and magical, droll and magical!
Blending his voice with the others with a brilliant alchemy one would not suspect of a performer of such celestial creds, his voice is strong and still dripping honey... his stint with Ms. Krauss has left him a phenomenal duo-ist.
He and all involved looked and sounded like this was the best time they had ever had in their lives... and that feeling was completely infectious. We sang along, we laughed, we cried... and ultimately were happy we survived the '60's to share this brilliant experience with Mr. Plant and his Abundant Joy!
